Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology (NIMIT), is a premier professional training institute in Kerala, offering a multidisciplinary, research-focused, and student-centric set of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels under the University of Calicut. Set in a scenic location with cutting edge infrastructure, NIMIT is one of the best institutions of its kind in South India that aims at the professionalism, discipline, and overall holistic development of our students. From its very inception, the goal of NIMIT is to become recognized for the quality of its vocational training and creative endeavors that mold and motivate youngsters to tap into their potential, face the future challenges, and fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Bhoomitrasena club was started on 08/09/2010. It is an active club in the college with organic vegetables farming and selling inside the campus.

Activities

  • The event was conducted as part of a global initiative that encourages individuals, institutions, and communities to switch off non-essential lights for one hour to promote energy conservation and environmental sustainability. World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the organization behind Earth Hour, aims to unite people worldwide in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. Following this vision, the Bhoomithrasena Club actively participated in spreading awareness about the importance of reducing energy consumption and protecting the planet.
  • The primary objective of the program was to provide students with a meaningful opportunity to experience nature closely, understand the importance of environmental conservation, and develop a sense of responsibility towards protecting natural resources.
  • The Bhoomithrasena Club has taken a commendable step towards promoting sustainable living and environmental awareness through its initiative titled Farm Fresh – Organic Vegetable Garden. This program is conducted regularly every Monday and Thursday from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM in front of the Main Block, making it easily accessible and visible to all students and staff. The primary objective of this initiative is to encourage the practice of organic farming within the campus and to create awareness about the importance of consuming fresh, chemical-free vegetables. By organizing this activity twice, a week, the club ensures consistent engagement of students in hands-on agricultural practices, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
  • The Bhoomitrasena Club organized a special program titled “Harvesting from the Vegetable Campus” on 24 September 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Vegetable Campus within the college premises. The event aimed to celebrate the collective efforts of students and faculty members in cultivating fresh and organic vegetables on the campus. It was also intended to promote environmental awareness, sustainable agriculture, and the importance of maintaining a green and healthy campus environment
  • The primary objective of World Environment Day for college students is to foster environmental stewardship by raising awareness of ecological issues, promoting sustainable habits, and encouraging immediate action, such as tree planting and campus clean-ups. It acts as a catalyst to educate students, build responsibility, and mobilize them to address issues like climate change and plastic pollution
