Haritham-2025 at NAIPUNNYA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY


The Bhoomithrasena Club, in collaboration with the NSS unit, marked World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 with a tree plantation and cleaning drive. The Environment Day 2025 celebrations were jointly organized by NIMIT, the Panchayat L.P. School Koratty South, and the Koratty Grama Panchayat, with active participation from the NSS Unit and Bhoomitrasena Club of NIMIT.

The day began at 09:10 a.m. with a Sapling planting ceremony held behind the Administrative Block of NIMIT. The sapling was planted by Rev. Fr. Tony Manickathan, Assistant Executive Director of NIMIT, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation.

At 09:30 a.m., the main event commenced at Panchayat L.P. School, Koratty South, with a prayer song led by an NSS Volunteer. The event was formally opened with a welcome speech by Ms. Ciny Gopal, Headmistress of the school.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. Sumesh P S, Ward Member of Ward 14, Koratty Grama Panchayat, followed by the Inauguration and Inaugural Address by Mr. P. C. Biju, President of Koratty Grama Panchayat. Their addresses emphasized the significance of community participation in environmental protection.

An Environment Day message was shared by Rev. Fr. Jimmy Kunnatthoor, Assistant Executive Director of NIMIT, encouraging students and the community to embrace sustainable practices. This was followed by felicitations from Mr. Rajeev Uppath, PTA President, and a keynote address by Ms. Swathi Lekshmi, Krishi Officer, who spoke on local ecological practices and the importance of green initiatives.
