Harvesting Day-2025 at NAIPUNNYA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Bhoomitrasena Club organized a special program titled “Harvesting from the Vegetable Campus” on 24 September 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Vegetable Campus within the college premises. The event aimed to celebrate the collective efforts of students and faculty members in cultivating fresh and organic vegetables on the campus. It was also intended to promote environmental awareness, sustainable agriculture, and the importance of maintaining a green and healthy campus environment.
The program began with a brief introduction by the coordinators of the Bhoomitrasena Club, who explained the objectives of the Vegetable Campus initiative. They highlighted how the project was started to encourage students to engage in eco-friendly farming practices and to understand the value of sustainable food production. The initiative also provides practical exposure to students about organic cultivation methods and the benefits of growing food without the use of harmful chemicals.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the harvesting activities. Various vegetables that had been cultivated in the campus garden were harvested during the program. The participants enthusiastically took part in picking vegetables and learning about the different stages of plant growth and cultivation techniques. The event created an atmosphere of teamwork and environmental responsibility among the participants.
One of the key highlights of the event was the sale of the harvested vegetables within the campus itself. The freshly harvested produce was made available for purchase by students and staff members. This initiative helped in promoting the consumption of healthy, organic vegetables while also demonstrating the practical benefits of campus-based cultivation. The response from the campus community was very encouraging, and many students and staff purchased the vegetables, appreciating their freshness and quality.
An amount of Rs 378/- were utilized for refreshments for students.
An amount of Rs3594/- were received after the sale of vegetables harvested.
