Spinach Cultivation at St. Peter's College, Kolenchery
The Spinach cultivation was organized to promote kitchen gardening and healthy food habits. Participants engaged in soil preparation, seed sowing, watering and care in spinach. The program helped students and volunteers understand the basics of organic farming and the importance of leafy greens in the diet. Within 30–40 days, the plants were ready for harvest, providing a hands-on experience and fresh, pesticide-free produce. The initiative successfully fostered environmental responsibility and interest in home gardening.
