Workshop on Mushroom farming
A workshop on mushroom farming was organised by Bhoomithrasena club in association with Science club, Biodiversity club, Environmental activity club and Postgraduate Department of Zoology on 11.03.2025 at the seminar Hall of Postgraduate and Research Department of Physics at 10.00 am.
The class was handled by Smt. Rekha G, Subject Matter Specialist and PI, Pathology, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Alappuzha.
The resource person dealt with importance of mushroom, types of mushroom, types of edible mushroom and significance of mushroom cultivation. She gave a detailed account of steps in mushroom farming.
The class was very informative and interesting. Many students found it useful as mushroom farming can be done as earn while you learn. The class was followed by interactive session where students and teachers asked their doubts regarding mushroom farming and marketing.
The class was attended by 64 participants including 56 students and 9 faculty members from various departments. The class ended by 1.30 pm.
