Pachathuruthu and Butterfly garden at St. Thomas College, Ranni

Maintaining Butterfly Garden and Pachathuruthu by the students made the students active in maintaining the ecosystem of our College campus. In the Butterfly Garden, they planted many host plants to attract the flies and also provide mud for mudding. Through this they learned about the importance of Butterflies in our ecosystem and how to protect it by providing it's habitat to live. Pachathuruthu act as a place for many native fruit plants like Guava, lemon, etc and green fencing was provided to protect it. It was really a natural remedy for the students apart from classroom studies, inorder to get rid of other addictives. Planting and maintaining the gardens made the students more energetic and engaged during free hours in the campus.
