World Forestry Day at LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS) GURUVAYOOR


As part of the observance of World Forestry Day (March 21), an Interdepartmental Drawing Competition was jointly organized by the Department of Botany and the Bhoomithrasena Club of Little Flower College, Guruvayur, on 19 March 2026 at 1:00 PM in Room No. T 58.

The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness, foster interdisciplinary learning, and encourage creativity among students through healthy academic competition. The theme of the competition, “Green Earth and Happy Earth,” was thoughtfully chosen to highlight the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living. The theme inspired participants to express their ideas artistically, reflecting their concern for nature and ecological balance.

A total of three students from different departments actively participated in the competition. Despite the limited number of participants, the event was conducted in a vibrant and well-organized manner, showcasing the artistic talents and environmental consciousness of the students.

The entries were evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and artistic presentation. The winners of the competition were:

  • First Prize: Shafna P. S., II B.Sc. Botany
  • Second Prize: Riya T. N., II B.Sc. Zoology

The programme concluded on a positive note, with appreciation extended to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and to the organizers for the smooth conduct of the event. The competition served as a meaningful platform to promote awareness about biodiversity, environmental protection, and the significance of forests in sustaining life on Earth
