Reviving the Pond located at the Muttippadi Palliyalicholakkulam in the 46th ward of Manjeri Municipality at Korambayil Ahamed Haji Memorial Unity Women's College, Manjeri
On 25th December 2024 at 8:30 AM, the Bhoomithrasena Club of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in association with the NSS Units, organized a pond cleaning drive at Muttippadi Palliyalicholakkulam Pond located in the 46th ward of Manjeri Municipality. The initiative aimed to improve the cleanliness and ecological health of the pond while restoring its natural beauty. The programme reflected the shared commitment of the Bhoomithrasena Club and NSS towards environmental conservation and community engagement.
Volunteers worked enthusiastically to remove weeds and excess vegetation that had accumulated on the pond’s surface, obstructing the natural flow of water. The activity received active support from local villagers, who collaborated with the students in clearing and rejuvenating the water body. This joint effort highlighted the importance of collective action in preserving local natural resources.
Beyond the physical task, the drive served as a meaningful experiential learning opportunity, fostering environmental awareness, teamwork, and social responsibility among students.
