ENVIRONMENT DAY PROGRAMMES
PKM College of Education Madampam, celebrated Environmental Day with great enthusiasm. The event promoted environmental awareness and sustainability through activities like planting tree saplings and cultivating vegetables, and a poster competition on "Planting in their own house." Students also participated in a cleanliness drive, emphasizing the importance of a clean and healthy environment.
Through these programmes, students developed awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability. The event was a huge success, and the unit plans to continue organizing environmental awareness programmes and encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. By promoting environmental conservation, the unit aims to make a positive impact on the community and contribute to a more sustainable future.
CAMPUS CLEANING PROGRAMME
P.K.M. College of education has conducted a campus cleaning programme on 2nd June 2025 at 3.00 PM in college ground. The main aim was to clean the whole campus before college opening. All student teachers were actively involved in this mission.
PLANTING SAPLING
P.K.M. College of education has planted sapling ahead of environmental day on 4th June 2025 at 4.00 PM in college ground. Student teachers actively participated in planting sapling. Volunteers cleaned the whole area and planted saplings. Plant care is essential for maintaining the health and well-being of our environment. Plants provide numerous benefits, including oxygen production, air purification, and food security. By caring for plants, we can ensure they continue to thrive and support life on Earth.
POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
PKM College of education had conducted a department wise poster making competition on environmental day. This includes photos of volunteers planting trees. Planting trees crucial for health of our planet and inhabitants in environment.
MAKING USEFUL PRODUCTS FROM PLASTIC WASTE
As part of World Environment Day Celebrations Department of Natural Science, Bhoomithrasena Club and IQAC conducted a Useful Products Making Competition From Plastic Waste in the theme Ending Plastic Pollution Globally on 5th June 2025. Students were participated in the competition. This programme motivated student teachers to reduce and re-use plastic waste
KRISHIKOOTTAM
P. K. M College of education, Madampam organised a programme called ‘Krishikoottam’. IQAC coordinator of the college Dr. Veena Appukuttan inaugurated the programme. Dr. Sinoj Joseph delivered the welcome speech. Asika. N. V delivered the vote of thanks. For emphasizing the importance of agriculture for a better tomorrow, tapioca, green chillies, and beans were planted in the college vegetable garden.
