Wildlife Week Observation 2024 at MES Kalladi College Mannarkkad
As part of Wildlife Week Observation 2024, the Department of Botany and Zoology of MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, in association with the Bhoomithrasena and Biodiversity Club, organized a special talk on the topic "Urban Wildlife: Adapting to City Life" on 7th October 2024 at Ambedkar Hall. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sereena K (Head, Department of Botany and Zoology), followed by the presidential address and formal inauguration by the Principal, Dr. Rajesh C, who emphasized the importance of fostering ecological awareness among students. Dr. Shahina P M felicitated the gathering, appreciating the department's efforts in promoting environmental consciousness. The keynote session was delivered by Dr. Priya T V, Assistant Professor, MES Keveeyam College, Valanchery, who provided a comprehensive overview of the behavioral and physiological adaptations of urban wildlife to city ecosystems, supported by real-life case studies and interactive discussion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shahana Jasmi A. Coordinated by Ms. Nazeema M K (Faculty-in-Charge) and Ms. Vismaya Hari, the session proved highly informative and engaging, enhancing student understanding of urban biodiversity and the need for sustainable coexistence.
