Green Horizons: A Call for Forest Conservation at Muhammed Abdurahiman Memorial Orphanage (MAMO) College

The event took place at the M.Sc. Chemistry smart classroom on Friday, 21st March 2025, at 10:30 AM in observance of World Forest Day. The members of the Nature Club and Bhoomitrasena Club actively participated in the event.

During the event, Mr. Shukoor K H, Principal of MAMO College, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the day and how fruitful it would be if each of us took small steps towards embracing the true meaning of this observance.

Following his address, a video was screened about how a man single-handedly transformed a barren island into a dense evergreen forest — The Forest Man, Jadav Payeng, on Majuli Island. After the screening, a meaningful discussion took place among the members. Mr. Farvees delivered an expert talk on the theme of the video and how its principles could be applied in our local context.

The event concluded at 12:30 PM after the discussion.
