Hands on Training in Production of Value added Product of Mushroom at Payyanur College


On December 2, 2025, the Bhoomitrasena club, in association with the PG

Department of Botany, organized a hands-on training session on value-added

products of mushroom. The program was inaugurated by Principal Dr. V M

Santhosh. Under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh P, Lab Assistant of the Botany

Department, students actively participated in the session and successfully prepared

mushroom pickle and chutney powder. Dr. Deepamol, Coordinator of the

Bhoomitrasena club, inspired the students to explore the potential of mushroom

cultivation and processing. The event saw active participation from all teachers,

who guided the students throughout the session, making it a valuable learning

experience. To put their skills to practice, the students sold all the prepared items

among the teachers and college office staff, making it a successful entrepreneurial

  • venture.
