Nature's Alchemy- Exhibition of aromatic and medicinal plants and plant products at Kuriakose Gregorios College


The Bhoomitrasena Club & Nature Club of Kuriakose Gregorios College, Pampady, in collaboration with the Post Graduate Department of Zoology, organized an exhibition titled NATURE’S ALCHEMY in connection with World Wildlife Day 2026. The event was held on 10th March at 11:30 am on the College Open Stage. The Principal and Vice Principal inaugurated the program. The exhibition displayed 60 exhibits of medicinal and aromatic plants and plant products. The event was activity‑oriented, engaging visitors in interactive sessions about the uses of the displayed flora. Alongside the exhibition, the college’s medicinal garden was renovated to showcase live specimens of the featured plants. A total of 57 people visited the exhibition, appreciating the showcase of nature’s therapeutic resources and the rejuvenated garden.


The program highlighted the importance of medicinal plants, celebrated the Indian knowledge system of traditional herbal practices, and realized the theme of World Wildlife Day 2026 - “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods” - by emphasizing the interdependence of wildlife and plant biodiversity for ecosystem health. The initiative contributed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15 – Life on Land, promoting conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems
