The Botany and Biotechnology Department of Newman College, Thodupuzha, organized a guided tour of the college’s botanical garden. The event, held on 5/6/2024, aimed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in plant identification, conservation, and biotechnology applications. The tour began with Dr. Saju Abraham outlining the day’s objectives and emphasizing the educational significance of botanical gardens. He introduced the history and conservation efforts of the garden. Faculty members Ms. Jaiby Cyriac, Dr. Mariat George, and Dr. Anju T.R. then guided the students through various sections of the garden, providing detailed instructions on plant identification, classification, and conservation techniques.
