Towards Sustainable Futures: Energy, Environment & Green Auditing
The programme titled “Towards Sustainable Futures: Energy, Environment & Green Auditing” was organized by the Bhoomithrasena Club, All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram, on 27 November 2025 at the Audio-Visual Hall. The session began at 9:30 a.m. and was attended by around 20 students. The event was conducted in collaboration with OISCA International, Trivandrum.
Speakers: Dr. Rubina Basheer – Founder, OISCA Women’s Chapter Trivandrum; District Secretary, OISCA International Trivandrum; Member, OISCA Green Audit Expert Team.
Mrs. Anandi Iyer – Education Consultant with 20+ years of experience, Career Counsellor, and Soft Skills Trainer and Ms. Anjali A R – Treasurer, OISCA Women’s Chapter Trivandrum; Coordinator of Youth Forum Activities; Research Scholar in Japanese Food Films at Kerala University.
Highlights
The speakers emphasized the growing importance of environmental auditing and sustainable practices in educational institutions and society. The session helped students understand the purpose, procedure, and impact of green audits in promoting resource efficiency and environmental responsibility. Participants gained valuable insights into practical auditing strategies, documentation methods, and the role of students in sustainability initiatives. The speakers inspired the audience to actively participate in environmental management and community-based green initiatives.
Outcome
The session was highly informative and interactive, allowing students to recognize the value of environmental auditing in real-world contexts. Students were also informed about an upcoming hands-on training session, where we will be actively participate in the process of green auditing, air auditing and waste auditing enabling practical learning.
Conclusion
The programme was successful in motivating students towards sustainable practices and enhancing awareness about environmental auditing. It provided a meaningful platform for learning, collaboration, and future action.
