Water for Birds at CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, CHENGANNUR

With summer intensifying, most water sources crucial for birds have been observed to be completely dried up. It was in this context that Bhoomithrasena club joined hands with Shreeman Narayan Mission to quench the thirst of our furred and feathered friends. Shreeman Narayan, a 70-year-old from Kerala, has made a remarkable contribution to the environment by providing earthen vessels to arrange water for birds in his locality. His gesture is an exemplary act of kindness and compassion towards nature, showing his deep concern for the welfare of wildlife. This year he supplied 120 earthen vessels to Bhoomithrasena in a function held at Pandalam. Michael Edmundstone, Communications and engagement lead SHOAL, UK who visited our institution inaugurated the distribution of earthen vessels on Feb.24, 2025. With the support of students we distributed the same to the public who informed their willingness to join with us in this project. Also, the club has prepared a detailed note on the points to follow while arranging water for birds. The matter was shared through social media platforms. Sri. Narayan’s initiative is a reminder of how small actions can make a significant difference in protecting nature, even if they don’t always receive the fame they deserve. It encourages others to think about the environment and take similar steps to help local wildlife.
