Hanging Water Feeders Installation – World Water Day 2025 Celebration at Korambayil Ahamed Haji Memorial Unity Women's College, Manjeri
In celebration of World Water Day on 25th March 2025, the Bhoomithrasena Club of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized a meaningful environmental initiative by installing hanging water feeders for birds within and outside the campus premises. The programme aimed to support local bird populations, especially during periods of rising temperatures and water scarcity. This thoughtful activity reflected the club’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and ecological responsibility.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the College Principal, Prof. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, in the presence of the College Manager, O. Abdul Ali. In their addresses, they appreciated the efforts of the Bhoomithrasena Club in promoting environmental awareness and encouraging compassionate actions towards protecting local fauna. The inauguration highlighted the importance of water conservation and community involvement in safeguarding natural ecosystems.
The initiative was coordinated by Dr. Faseela P., Club Coordinator, with the active participation of student members. The installation of hanging water feeders across the campus and selected nearby areas served as a practical step towards sustaining urban bird life and promoting environmental sensitivity among students. The programme successfully combined awareness, action, and community engagement, reinforcing the values of conservation and social responsibility.
