Forest Day Observation at MES KEVEEYAM COLLEGE VALANCHERY
Kottarammkunnu is a laterite hill near College campus. The hilly terrain contains many trees and shrubs and a part of the hill is also covered by grass. Many birds visit the area. The hills are occupied by monkeys too.
As all over the state this Laterite hill is under threat due to the excavation activities.
The club members visited the area and noted the presence of many plants and animals. The students are made aware of the need to protect such terrain which plays a major role in maintaining the water table of the locality. The members also interacted with local residents near the area and discussed about the significance of protecting the place.
