Report on World Earth Day celebrations, 2026 at St. Mary's College, Thrissur
On March 28, 2026, St. Mary’s College, Thrissur, joined the global Earth Hour movement with a dedicated lights-out event. Between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM, students and faculty voluntarily switched off all non-essential lights and electronic appliances across the campus and hostels.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about energy conservation and the urgent need to combat climate change. During the hour of darkness, participants gathered for a silent candlelight vigil, reflecting on their environmental footprint.
