Eco Xmas at ST. STEPHEN'S COLLEGE
The Bhoomitra Sena Club organized EcoXmas, an initiative promoting sustainable and eco-friendly Christmas celebrations. Emphasizing the spirit of joy and environmental responsibility, the event encouraged students to replace conventional decorations with biodegradable, upcycled, and reusable materials. Handmade ornaments from paper, fabric, and natural elements like dried leaves and twigs adorned the campus, reducing plastic waste. Instead of artificial Christmas trees, potted plants and tree saplings were decorated, reinforcing the message of conservation. The celebrations also included carol singing, DIY craft workshops, and an awareness campaign on reducing holiday waste. EcoXmas inspired students to embrace sustainability in festive traditions, proving that celebrations can be both meaningful and environmentally conscious. The class was led by college office staff Mr. Arun Abraham.
