Awareness Poster Exhibition on Reducing Single-Use Plastics at each Department of the college at GOVT. VICTORIA COLLEGE, PALAKKAD

Posters depicting ecofriendly alternatives to plastics were prepared and placed at various departments. The poster effectively highlighted practical and eco-friendly substitutes for single-use plastics, such as cloth and jute bags instead of plastic carry bags, steel tiffin boxes and water bottles in place of disposable containers, and areca leaf plates and banana leaves for serving food during events. It also promoted the use of paper bags, newspaper wraps, and glass or steel containers for storage. By showcasing the decomposition timeline of common plastic items—ranging from 15 to over 450 years—the poster conveyed a strong visual message about the long-lasting environmental impact of plastic waste. In addition, the campaign emphasized the 4R principles: Refuse unnecessary plastic, Reduce consumption, Reuse creatively, Repair instead of replacing, and Recycle responsibly.
