The Department of Botany in association with the Bhoomithrasena Club of Little Flower College (Autonomous), Guruvayur organized a nature study trip titled “Feel the Nature – A Trip to KFRI, Peechi” on 15 September 2025. The programme was conducted to provide students with direct exposure to forest ecosystems and to encourage interest in environmental conservation.
Objectives of the Programme
- To create awareness about forest biodiversity and conservation.
- To provide students with field-level learning experiences.
- To promote environmental responsibility among students.
- To encourage participation in green initiatives and nature-related activities.
The trip was conducted at the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) campus and the surrounding forest areas of Peechi. Students observed different plant species, forest vegetation, and ecological interactions within the natural habitat. The visit helped them understand the importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance.
