Workshop on ' Terrarium making' at Maharaja's College
A Workshop on Terrarium Making was organized on 21 November 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with the objective of introducing participants to the concept and practical aspects of creating miniature ecosystems. The programme was conducted by Dr. Jaseela F., Associate Professor of Botany, Maharajas College, and Ms. Deepa Mohan, Research Scholar, Department of Botany, Maharajas College.
The resource persons provided an informative session on terrarium ecosystems, suitable plant species, substrates, and maintenance techniques. Participants received hands-on training in designing and assembling terrariums, enabling them to gain practical experience in indoor gardening and sustainable green practices.
An exhibition of the terrariums prepared during the workshop was conducted from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The exhibition showcased the creativity and skills of the participants and attracted the interest of students and teachers from various departments.
A total of 35 participants, including students and teachers from different departments, attended the programme. The workshop and exhibition successfully enhanced awareness of biodiversity, environmental conservation, and the importance of incorporating green spaces into daily life.
