WORKSHOP ON “PHOTOGRAPHY FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH” at MES KEVEEYAM COLLEGE VALANCHERY
The session began by a welcome address a brief introduction about the academic profile of Dr. Kalesh Sadasivan (Research Associate, Travancore Nature History Society) by Dr. Krishna Prabha K S, Head of the Department of Zoology. The session was chaired by Dr. K. Sudheer (Associate professor in Zoology, The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikkode).
Dr Kalesh Sadasivan began his session with a beautiful Photograph of a compound eye. In the session sir demonstrated on the use of different cameras for taking photographs of different types of organisms. He gave a detailed account on the use of different types of lenses and also made students aware of the techniques to be used while capturing the photographs of different organisms for taxonomic studies.
The session was followed by a detailed discussion where the participants cleared their doubts. They were also given a chance to view and identify different parts of cameras used for taking photographs of organisms. Dr. K. Sudheer concluded the session with his remarks. The session came to an end by vote of thanks by Jasla Mol K K, Assistant Professor in Zoology Department, MES Keveeyam College.
