Plastic Booth Inauguration – Towards a Greener Campus at Sree Sankara College Kalady

The Plastic Booth was inaugurated at Sree Sankara College, Kalady on 30 January 2025 under the auspices of the Bhoomitrasena Club, as part of the college’s ongoing efforts towards environmental sustainability. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of reducing plastic pollution and fostering eco-conscious behaviour among students and staff. The Plastic Booth was established to facilitate the systematic collection and management of plastic waste on campus, thereby contributing to a cleaner and greener environment.

The financial support for the installation of the Plastic Booth was generously provided by Ms. Mini K. D., Professor, Department of Zoology and Faculty-in-Charge of the Bhoomitrasena Club. This initiative reflects her deep commitment to environmental protection and her love for nature, undertaken as a meaningful contribution to the college before her retirement in 2025. The programme stood as a symbol of her dedication to sustainable practices and served as an inspiration to the academic community to actively engage in environmental conservation.
