INTERNATIONAL OZONE DAY at College of Applied Science Anchunadu,Kanthalloor
The International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, was observed on 16th September 2025 at CAS KANTHALLOOR with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect it for a sustainable future.
The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of Kanthalloor Panchayath, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech emphasizing the role of youth and local communities in environmental conservation. In his address, he highlighted the significance of global efforts like the Montreal Protocol and encouraged students to contribute actively through sustainable practices.As part of the event Medicinal plants were supplied and planted in various areas of the college campus, symbolizing a commitment to environmental health and traditional ecological knowledge, A drawing competition on the theme “Ozone Layer Protection” was conducted, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across departments. The artwork showcased creative interpretations of environmental protection and the urgency of ozone conservation and plastic segregation drive was undertaken by the students, demonstrating practical steps toward waste management and reduction of pollution. Students collected and segregated plastic waste from the campus, spreading awareness about proper disposal and recycling methods. 500 rs were spent for refreshment .
