St. Joseph’s College for Women was conceived with the view to use education as a tool to bring about social development. Now it stands tall in the heartland of Alappuzha with the legacy of having empowered young women for the past 68 years. From 142 students and 14 teachers during its inception in 1954, to 1275 students in 10 graduate and 4 post-graduate programmes, 66 teaching staff including permanent faculty and guest faculty, and 23 non-teaching staff.Environment initiatives and climate change mitigation programs are organized by the club.

Activities

  • Raise Awareness: Educate people about the benefits of pulses and their importance in sustainable food systems
  • To promote eco-friendly practices by making and distributing paper pens, reducing plastic waste, and raising awareness about sustainable living.
  • Introduce the concept of bird conservation and the importance of bird baths
  • Here's a potential plan for a field visit to an Ecotourist Biodiversity Centre: Objectives 1. Raise awareness: Educate participants about the importance of biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecotourism practices. 2. Promote environmental education: Encourage hands-on learning and exploration of the natural environment. 3. Support conservation efforts: Contribute to the conservation of local flora and fauna.
  • To promote eco-friendly jute bags as a sustainable alternative to plastic bags and raise awareness about environmental conservation.
